The second phase in a multi-faceted project (phase one, phase three) brings a renewed presence to a long-standing Jewish Institution in Brighton: Congregation Kadimah-Toras Moshe.
RODE designed the new synagogue to assume a simple form: two rectilinear volumes front onto Washington Street, the larger masonry-clad volume houses significant program elements – sanctuary, social hall, and classrooms – while a second volume holds the service elements. The masonry volume is punctured at significant moments by wood-textured planar walls, opening light and views for the spaces contained within.
