"Architecture, at its best, uplifts people, our stories, our cultural histories, our communities, and the environmental relationships between them."
Ben joined RODE’s design team in 2021, bringing his knowledge and experience in institutional and urban design to the firm. He has worked to realize mission-based projects like the Dorchester Fieldhouse, and socially just housing like the affordable elderly housing at the Hill Memorial Baptist Church.Ben has a passion for design that uplifts and empowers marginalized communities by telling meaningful stories about culture through the co-creation of spaces. He is working to design space for joy instead of barriers to it - to arrive at a collective vision for future homes, parks, neighborhoods, community centers, and cities. What makes space just, healthy, and empowering to as many people as possible? Ben is using this question as a guide to design solutions that address systemically rooted spatial and social injustices, and encourage people to dismantle the power structures that caused them.
