Description

At the site of a former quarry, a new apartment building and condo tower rise above a landscaped yard that rolls over the rocky existing ledge.

The project envisions a ‘tower in a park', where urban residents move through a series of spaces in their journey to transition from the frenzy of city living, through a rich greenscape with a diversity of active / passive spaces, to their residence high above the city.

The site was a former granite quarry.

The design shifts the architecture and landscape to integrate with the natural outcroppings of the site, shapes the towers to take advantage of the best views, and folds a rich landscape of greenery across the site to enrich the resident experience

The condo building is sited downhill towards the skyline, with a profiled cladding system that evokes the history of the quarry, transitioning into a double-height lobby space.
The rental building is designed around a lighter concept that complements the richer condo theme
Unit interiors have expansive views of the urban landscape, in a material palette that recalls the foundational concept of the quarry
